TheUniversityofSouthernCalifornia(USC)announcedFridayitwouldbescrappingalloutsidespeakersduringthisyear’scommencementceremony,justdaysaftertheuniversitycanceleditsMuslimstudent’svaledictorianspeechfollowingaseriesofsocialmediapostsshemadeaboutIsrael.
“Giventhehighlypublicizedcircumstancessurroundingourmain-stagecommencementprogram,universityleadershiphasdecideditisbesttoreleaseouroutsidespeakersandhonoreesfromattendingthisyear’sceremony,”astatementpostedontheuniversity’scommencementwebsiteread.
