More than 900 illegal aliens charged with immigration-related crimes during first week of April: DOJ

DepartmentofHomelandSecuritySecretaryKristiNoemspentTuesdaymorninginthefieldtargetingillegalimmigrantcriminalsinArizonawithICEandlawenforcementofficials. U.S.attorneysforsixsouthwesternborderdistrictschargednearly1,000illegalalienswithimmigration-relatedcrimesduringthefirstweekofAprilunderOperationTakeBackAmerica,theDepartmentofJusticesaidonTuesday. ThedistrictsinvolvedincludeArizona,CentralCalifornia,SouthernCalifornia,NewMexico,SouthernTexasandWesternTexas. TheDistrictofArizonabroughtchargesagainst204illegalaliens;83ofwhomwerechargedwithillegalreentryand107werechargedwithillegalentry.Fourteenpeople,includingIvanMauricioHernandez-Mosqueda,werealsochargedwithsmugglinghumansintoandwithinthedistrict.  HernandezMosqueda,aMexicannational,wassentencedto46monthsinprisonforsmugglingmorethan100illegalaliensintotheU.S.,theDOJsaid,addingthathecoachedsomeofthemto“claimasylumunderfalsepretenses̶
