Outgoing Singapore prime minister slams ‘wokeness’ as ‘burdensome’ lifestyle Colorado Springs Gazette

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has defined “wokeness” as a Western movement that enables people to be hypersensitive.
Lee, who announced on Monday he will be stepping down as prime minister later this week after two decades in office, reflected on his core values and policies amid criticisms of tech companies’ “woke” policies. He argued that woke culture tends to lead to “very extreme attitudes and social norms.”
“You are super-sensitive about other people’s issues, and you become hypersensitive when other people, somehow others say things or mention things or refer to you without the respect, which you or your super-subgroup feel you are entitled to,” Lee explained in a CNA interview.
He mentioned some conversations tend to include “appropriate pronouns” and “safe spaces.”
