EmoryUniversityinAtlantareleasedastatementThursdaythat28peoplewerearrestedduringademonstrationattheEmoryquad,20ofwhomweremembersoftheschoolcommunity.
Inthestatement,CherylElliott,thevicepresidentofpublicsafetyatEmoryUniversity,saidafewdozenprotestersarrivedatcampusjustbefore7:45a.m.
Whentheprotestersarrived,shesaid,theyignoredandpushedpastEmoryPoliceDepartment(EPD)officersstationedatthequadandsetuptentsinanareawhereequipmentandmaterialswerestagedforacommencementceremony.
